Western Values

A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim — I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed.

A Full Accounting

You want to know what Western values actually are? Not the marketing. Not the mythology. The product itself. Here is the receipt.

01 — The Sexualization and Commodification of Women

Western civilization does not protect women. It packages them and sells them.

OnlyFans reported $7.22 billion in gross revenue in fiscal 2024. The total number of fan accounts grew 24 percent to 377.5 million users. The United States accounts for nearly 49 percent of global OnlyFans traffic.

That is not a fringe platform. That is a mainstream financial institution. Women are being told that selling their bodies digitally is empowerment. That this is freedom. That this is ownership. And a billion-dollar corporation takes 20 percent off the top while the culture celebrates it as liberation.

Between December 2019 and June 2024, Reuters documented 30 cases in U.S. police and court records involving child sexual abuse material on OnlyFans. These cases included over 200 explicit videos and images of minors.

The West calls Islam dangerous because it commands modesty. The same civilization generated a seven-billion-dollar ecosystem built on the public sale of women's bodies, and calls that progress.

02 — The Legal Poison

About 178,000 people die from excessive alcohol use each year in the United States. These deaths shorten the lives of those who die by an average of 24 years. Alcohol-related deaths increased 29 percent in just a few years, including about 4,000 deaths each year among young people under 21.

In 2023, there were 12,429 alcohol-impaired driving fatalities, representing 30 percent of all driving fatalities.

178,000 people. Every year. Dead. From a legal, taxed, marketed, celebrated, stadium-sponsored, holiday-themed product. If a religion killed 178,000 Americans annually it would be classified as a national security threat and dismantled.

"Intoxicants and gambling are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful."

Surah Al-Maidah, 5:90

Islam prohibits alcohol. Not because Muslims are primitive. Because the science is exactly what the Prophet, peace be upon him, knew it would be 1,400 years ago. The West calls that oppression. The CDC calls it 178,000 funerals a year.

03 — Normalization of Obesity and Indulgence

Western culture has built an ideology around the celebration of physical destruction when that destruction is called "body positivity." There is a difference between dignity for every body and the normalization of metabolic disease as an identity category.

The United States is the most medicated, most overweight, most chronically ill developed nation on earth. It also produces more diet culture content, more fitness marketing, more wellness influencers, and more pharmaceutical weight loss drugs than any country in history. The machine makes you sick. Then it sells you the cure. Then it calls the cycle freedom.

"The son of Adam fills no vessel worse than his stomach. It is sufficient for the son of Adam to have a few morsels to keep his back straight."

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Tirmidhi

That is not oppression. That is precision. That is health science delivered 1,400 years before the chronic disease epidemic.

04 — The Epstein Protection Network

Jeffrey Epstein trafficked children. He did it across multiple countries. He did it with the active participation of powerful men in finance, politics, media, entertainment, and government. He had a private island. He had a private plane with a documented flight log. He had a list of clients.

He died in a federal prison under maximum supervision in what the government told us was a suicide. Both cameras outside his cell malfunctioned. His cellmate was transferred. His guards were asleep.

Of every country implicated in the Epstein network, the United States has done the least. The least investigation. The least prosecution. The least accountability. The names on that list are still walking free. Still in office. Still appearing on platforms. Still being celebrated.

The same government that tells you Islam is a threat to Western values has not produced a single high-profile prosecution from the most documented elite pedophile network in American history.

Western values protect the powerful. That is not a conspiracy theory. That is the documented record.

05 — Pornography, Gambling, and the Law

Pornography is the most consumed media product in American culture. It is free, legal, algorithmically optimized, and available to any child with a smartphone. The research on its neurological effects is not ambiguous. It rewires dopamine architecture, destroys pair bonding capacity, escalates compulsively toward extreme content, and generates a documented pattern of demand for increasingly dehumanizing material.

The Islamic position on pornography is not a cultural limitation. It is neurological protection. It is protection of the dignity of women. It is protection of the capacity for real human intimacy.

Gambling is legal in most American states. The sports betting industry has exploded following federal deregulation. It is now advertised during every major sporting event in America, marketed aggressively to young men, and structured by design to extract maximum capital from people least able to afford the losses. The architecture is identical to slot machines. The exploitation is identical. The legality is the only difference.

Allah prohibited both in the same verse. Not coincidentally.

06 — AIPAC and the Purchased Government

The United States has a legislative body that is supposed to represent the interests of the American people. It does not. It represents whoever funds the campaigns.

During the 2024 elections, the Israel lobby poured at least $45.2 million into winning candidates for Congress, the most by any organization in history. 349 senators and members of the House, 65 percent of Congress, received money from AIPAC or its affiliated super PACs.

AIPAC spent more than $100 million in the 2024 election cycle, targeting progressive opponents of Israel's war on Gaza. Its spending helped defeat Representatives Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush, two of Congress's most vocal critics of the assault on Gaza.

Two Black members of Congress who were calling for a ceasefire while Palestinian children were being killed. Removed from office. By purchased primary elections. Funded by a foreign policy lobbying group. In a country that calls itself a democracy.

AIPAC commits to spending on a variety of less formal means of influence, including luxury flights and accommodation for members of Congress. At the 2025 Congressional Summit, the CEO of AIPAC bragged that his organization has cultivated influence with three top national security officials in the Trump administration.

This is not lobbying. This is the public purchase of legislative power. And it is legal. It is Western values in their most unfiltered expression.

07 — The Monetized Medical and Criminal Systems

America spends more per person on healthcare than any other nation on earth and produces some of the worst health outcomes among developed countries. The reason is structurally simple: the United States is the only country in the developed world that has chosen to turn medicine into a for-profit enterprise.

Over the past 25 years, the pharmaceutical industry spent $8.5 billion on lobbying and over $745 million on campaign contributions to buy politicians. Last year, drug companies hired over 1,700 lobbyists, more than three for every member of Congress.

The U.S. spends more than $80 billion annually incarcerating 2.3 million people. More than half of that sum is paid to private vendors. Companies charge as much as $25 for a 15-minute phone call from incarcerated people.

The goal of the medical system is not health. The goal is recurring revenue. A cured patient is a lost customer. A managed patient is a lifetime subscriber. The criminal justice system is not built to rehabilitate human beings. It is built to process them as raw material for profit extraction.

08 — Hookup Culture and the Collapse of the Covenant

Western culture has replaced the sacred covenant of marriage with a transactional marketplace of bodies. You are encouraged to consume people the way you consume products. Swipe. Match. Use. Discard. Repeat.

The marriage rate has fallen about 65 percent in the last half century. Less than one in two adults are currently married, down from about 75 percent in 1960. As of 2021, 25 percent of 40-year-olds in the United States have never married.

Approximately 41 percent of first marriages end in divorce. 60 percent of second marriages. 73 percent of third marriages. The more you practice leaving, the better you get at it.

You cannot practice disposability with people for fifteen years and then suddenly become capable of sacrificial, generational love. The architecture of the hookup does not prepare you for the architecture of a family. It dismantles it before you ever try to build one.

"There is no foundation that has been built in Islam more beloved to Allah than marriage."

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

09 — The Decline of Marriage and Destruction of the Family

This is not only a spiritual crisis. It is a material one.

The decline in marriage rates is found most dramatically among lower income Americans, cutting them off from one of the most potent wealth-building institutions known to humanity. The decline is far less dramatic, nearly by half, among higher income citizens.

Read that clearly. The wealthy are staying married. The poor are not. And the cultural messaging telling poor people that marriage is optional comes from institutions built by and for the wealthy class. It is not liberation. It is a managed dismantling of the primary mechanism by which working-class families accumulate and transmit generational wealth.

The welfare architecture compounds this. Benefit structures have historically penalized marriage in low-income communities, creating financial incentives to remain single. The system does not accidentally disincentivize Black and low-income marriage. That is the design. A dependent population is a manageable population.

10 — The Promotion of Non-Traditional Sexual Identity

The question is not whether individuals deserve dignity. Every human being is deserving of dignity. That is non-negotiable in Islam and it is non-negotiable in my ethic.

The question is whether a civilization that cannot maintain basic family structure, that has a 41 percent first-marriage divorce rate, that has normalized the commodification of women's bodies, and that has dissolved sexual ethics into radical personal preference, is in a position to claim it has figured out human flourishing.

What Western culture has done is take the concept of identity and made sexuality its organizing center. Your desires become your identity. Your identity becomes your political affiliation. Your political affiliation becomes your religion. This is not liberation. It is a replacement of transcendent purpose with appetitive self-definition.

Islam says your identity begins with your relationship to Allah. Without a transcendent anchor, identity becomes infinitely malleable, and therefore infinitely exploitable.

11 — Hyper-Sexualized and Violent Content

The average American child sees tens of thousands of acts of violence in media before they finish high school. This is documented, researched, and broadly ignored. The same culture that generates this content then professes shock when it produces violent people.

The pornography industry is feeding graphic sexual content to children whose neurological systems are still forming. The average age of first pornography exposure in America is now estimated at 11 to 12 years old. The research on early exposure is unambiguous: it distorts the sexual development of young men, destroys the capacity for intimacy, and generates escalating demand for more extreme material.

This is not a side effect. It is a feature. A population conditioned to seek dopamine from screens rather than from real human connection is easier to sell to, easier to distract, and easier to control. Violence and sexual content in media are not cultural accidents. They are the inevitable products of an economic system that profits from your attention regardless of what it costs your soul.

12 — Hedonism and Instant Gratification

Western consumer culture has one message delivered through ten thousand channels: feel good now. Buy this. Eat this. Watch this. Do not delay. Do not sacrifice. Do not suffer toward anything. The self deserves comfort at all times.

This is the exact inversion of every wisdom tradition on earth. Every serious spiritual and philosophical tradition teaches that the capacity to delay gratification, to endure discomfort, to sacrifice present pleasure for future good, is the foundation of character. The West has systematically dismantled that capacity in its population while selling them the products that fill the void it creates.

"Renounce the world and Allah will love you. Renounce what people possess and people will love you."

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Ibn Majah

13 — Extreme Individualism and Atomization

Western liberalism has taken the legitimate concept of individual dignity and mutated it into an ideology of radical isolation. You owe nothing to anyone. You are accountable to no one. Your only obligation is self-actualization. Community, family, and tradition are optional accessories to the sovereign self.

The results are measurable. Loneliness in America has reached epidemic levels. The U.S. Surgeon General declared loneliness a public health crisis. Rates of clinical depression, anxiety disorder, and social isolation have increased consistently across every decade of intensifying Western individualism. Young men are the most affected demographic.

Islam commands the ummah. Community is not optional. The obligation to your neighbors, your family, your parents, the vulnerable in your community is not optional. Islam builds humans who are structurally embedded in networks of mutual obligation.

That produces meaning, accountability, and resilience. Western individualism produces people who are maximally free and minimally alive.

14 — The Opioid Crisis: Profit-Driven Mass Poisoning

This is not a crisis that emerged organically. It was engineered.

The opioid epidemic has been described as one of the most devastating public health catastrophes of our time. Total drug overdose deaths reached 105,007 in 2023. Even after recent declines, opioid deaths remain above 2019 levels.

Over the past 25 years, the pharmaceutical industry spent $8.5 billion on lobbying and $745 million on campaign contributions. More than 1,700 pharmaceutical lobbyists operate in Washington, over three for every member of Congress.

The pharmaceutical companies that manufactured and marketed these drugs knew what they were. Purdue Pharma knew that OxyContin was addictive. They marketed it anyway. They paid doctors to prescribe it. They lobbied against regulation. They made billions. Then they declared bankruptcy to limit liability while the communities they poisoned were left to manage the wreckage.

This is not a healthcare failure. It is a crime. A managed, profit-driven, legally protected crime. And the communities it hit hardest were working-class, rural, and Black communities who had already been stripped of economic alternatives by the same system that sold them the pills.

15 — No Shame. Public Vulgarity.

Islam has a concept called haya. It is often translated as modesty or shame, but its meaning is richer than either word captures. Haya is an internal state of dignity that governs behavior in public and in private. It is the awareness that you are always in the sight of Allah, and that your conduct reflects your understanding of that fact.

Western culture has declared war on haya. Not because it conflicts with any coherent ethical framework, but because shame is bad for business. A person with haya does not buy everything they want. Does not consume content indiscriminately. Does not expose everything about themselves publicly for likes and engagement. Does not perform degradation for entertainment.

Public vulgarity has been rebranded as authenticity. Lewdness has been rebranded as liberation. The abolition of all internal restraint has been rebranded as mental health. And corporations harvest the resulting behavior as raw material for advertising revenue.

When you remove shame from a culture you do not get a freer culture. You get a more exploitable one.

16 — Gun Culture and the Normalization of Mass Death

There were 499 mass shootings in 2024, killing 507 people and injuring at least 2,169 others. Gun violence resulted in 40,886 deaths and 31,652 injuries. More than 5,200 of those were children and teens.

Over 330 shootings took place at American schools in 2024, representing a 715 percent increase over the 20 years leading up to that year. Firearms are the leading cause of death for children in the United States.

Over half of U.S. adults have either experienced gun-related violence themselves or have a family member who has.

A country where children are more likely to be killed by guns than by any other cause has normalized that reality. There is no sustained political will to change it because the gun industry is profitable, the lobbying is effective, and the grief cycle has been shortened to the point where a school shooting generates three days of coverage and then disappears.

Children practicing active shooter drills before they learn multiplication. Parents sending their kids to school wondering if today is the day. That is not civilization. That is a culture that has decided profit is more sacred than children.

17 — Consumerism and Short-Term Extractive Thinking

Every dollar of that is designed to do one thing: manufacture desire for things you do not need, using psychological architecture designed to bypass your rational decision-making. The entire consumer economy is built on the engineered dissatisfaction of its participants. You are not enough. You do not have enough. You need to buy the thing that will make you enough. Then buy the next thing.

"Wealth is not having many possessions. Wealth is the richness of the soul."

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Sahih al-Bukhari

Short-term extractive thinking governs not just individual consumption but corporate strategy, political cycles, resource extraction, and foreign policy. The logic is always the same: maximize return in the shortest possible window and externalize the long-term costs onto someone else. Onto future generations. Onto poorer nations. Onto ecosystems. Onto the communities whose labor and land were used to produce the wealth.

Islam commands stewardship. The earth is an amanah, a trust. You are not its owner. You are its custodian. You will be accountable for what you did with it. That is not a metaphor. That is a governing principle for economics, ecology, and political life.

18 — Secularization and the Removal of Accountability

The most dangerous product of Western secularism is not atheism. It is the removal of vertical accountability.

When there is no God, there is no ultimate standard. When there is no ultimate standard, power defines morality. When power defines morality, whoever has the most power makes the rules. And the people with the most power in Western civilization are not the most virtuous. They are the most ruthless.

The man who built the Epstein network was secular. The corporations that manufactured the opioid crisis are secular. The governments that fund genocide while preaching human rights are secular. Secularism does not make people better. It removes the framework that holds them accountable when they are not.

Islam does not separate the sacred from the political, the spiritual from the economic, the individual from the communal, or the present from the hereafter. That integration is not primitivism. It is the most sophisticated governance framework ever constructed for human society.

19 — Advertising Saturation and the Colonization of Mind

US digital advertising spending reached approximately $298 billion in 2024, growing toward $452 billion by 2028. Digital ad spending is projected to surpass $1,000 per person annually.

That is 1,000 dollars per American being spent every year by corporations trying to colonize your attention, redirect your desires, and convert your psychological vulnerabilities into purchase decisions. The average American is exposed to between 4,000 and 10,000 advertising messages per day.

Every ad is a claim on your attention, a manufactured desire, a subtle reordering of your priorities. The cumulative effect is a population that has lost the capacity for sustained, self-directed attention, whose inner life is increasingly constructed by algorithms designed to keep them consuming, and who cannot sit in silence without reaching for stimulation.

Tafakkur, deep contemplative reflection, requires the capacity to be still. To think without distraction. To hear the voice of your own conscience and ultimately the call of Allah beneath the noise of the world. Western consumer culture is systematically destroying that capacity by design.

A distracted person is a consuming person. A consuming person is a profitable person. A profitable person is a controlled person. They told you Islam was the cage. Look at what they built around you while you were looking at the phone.

The Verdict

You were told that Islam is the danger. That it is radical. That it opposes civilization. That it threatens your values.

Look at the values.

178,000 dead from alcohol annually. A seven-billion-dollar platform built on the sale of women's bodies. A government purchased by foreign lobbying money. A medical system designed for profit, not healing. A criminal system designed for extraction, not rehabilitation. A child trafficking network whose clients were never prosecuted. A pornography industry providing your child's first sexual education. A gambling industry in your pocket at all times.

These are not the values of Jesus of Nazareth, the man born in what is now occupied Palestinian territory. The West's values are not Christian values. They are empire values. And they have been sold to you under the cross for four hundred years.

The question is not whether you will reject Islam. The question is whether you will keep accepting this.
