Selective Prosecution

A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim — I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed.

"And do not mix the truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know." — Surah Al Baqarah 2:42

The Costume of Courage

A coward often puts on the costume of courage. That is what a lot of these so-called intellectuals do.

They choose one target. They pull one piece of evidence. They strip it from its context. They ignore every counterweight. They gather applause from people already trained to agree with them.

Then they call that bravery. Then they call that honesty. Then they call that thought.

It is not thought. It is theater.

Bill Maher and Sam Harris built entire reputations doing exactly this with Islam.

That moment with Ben Affleck became famous for a reason. Not because he was the deepest man in the room. Not because he was a scholar. But because in that moment, he had enough honesty to say what the polished minds around him refused to say.

He called the framing what it was. Gross. Racist. Dishonest. And they hated that.

Because they were used to attacking Islam in an environment where the rules were already rigged in their favor. They were used to treating selective prosecution like philosophy. They were used to presenting one civilization as the defendant while every other civilization sat in the courtroom untouched.

That is not intelligence. That is propaganda with better vocabulary.

The Hidden Evidence

Look carefully at what they were doing. They took one contested issue from classical Islamic jurisprudence, the apostasy question, and they presented it as if it were the final and defining proof that Islam is uniquely violent. They removed the history. They removed the legal debates. They removed the distinction between private belief and political treason. They removed the Quran's own governing principles. Then they stood there and called the case closed.

That is not scholarship. That is a prosecutor hiding evidence.

The Quran does not prescribe a worldly death penalty for apostasy. Not once.

"There is no compulsion in religion." That is not a side note. That is bedrock.

Then they run to a hadith and act like the matter is settled forever. But legitimate scholars have debated that narration for centuries. Many held that it referred to political treason in a wartime context, when leaving the Muslim community meant joining forces with enemies at war against it.

That discussion exists. That scholarship exists. That nuance exists. But men like Maher and Harris do not need truth. They need a villain.

Where Are They Now

Now let us ask the question they never ask. What about Deuteronomy 13? What about the Torah commanding death for the one who calls people to other gods? Your brother. Your son. Your daughter. Your wife. What about the text saying your hand should be first against them?

What about Maimonides affirming capital punishment for heresy? That principle was not erased. It was suspended because the machinery to enforce it was lost.

So where was the outrage then? Where was the endless civilizational diagnosis then? Where was Sam Harris when the blade was in Deuteronomy? Where was Bill Maher? Silent.

Now let us move to Christianity. Not the decent Christian neighbor. Not the sincere individual believer. I am talking about Christianity when it had state power. Christianity when it had courts. Christianity when it had armies. Christianity when it had prisons. Christianity when it had empire.

The Inquisition was not a rumor. It was policy. Human beings were tortured and killed for heresy. Michael Servetus was burned alive under Christian authority for theological disagreement. The Crusades marched under the banner of the cross. Colonial conquest across Africa, Asia, and the Americas was blessed with Christian language and Christian justification. The slave trade was defended from pulpits with scripture. And the Holocaust happened in the most Christianized region on earth, among people baptized into Christian civilization.

So let us stop pretending we are dealing with some uniquely savage religious impulse that belongs only to Muslims. History does not support that lie. Body counts do not support that lie. Documents do not support that lie. Power does not support that lie.

The Principle Test

What Harris and Maher call principle is not principle. A principle moves wherever truth demands it move. A principle does not freeze when its own side is guilty. A principle does not become timid when the criminal wears your flag, speaks your language, or belongs to your civilization. That is the test. And that is exactly where they fail.

Because what they are really practicing is selective moral outrage. What they are really defending is a political hierarchy. What they really need is for Islam to remain the permanent suspect so that everyone else can commit evil under a softer light.

Now bring it to the present. Look at Gaza. Look at the destruction. Look at the dead. Look at the erased bloodlines. Look at the bombed hospitals. Look at the targeted journalists. Look at the starvation used as a weapon. Look at the annexation. Look at the settlements expanding over stolen land. Look at the entire crime documented in real time before the whole world.

And then ask yourself this. Where are the same men who spent years warning the public that Islam is uniquely violent? Where are they now, when a self-declared Jewish state is carrying out mass atrocity before the cameras? Where are they now, when that violence is funded, armed, protected, and politically covered by a nation soaked in Christian mythology and Christian identity?

The United States says one nation under God. It says in God we trust. Its politicians perform Christianity every election cycle like ritual theater. Its weapons are in the field. Its money is in the field. Its vetoes are in the field. Its fingerprints are on the whole operation.

And now military aggression reaches Iran, a Muslim majority nation, with Israel and America acting in open coordination.

So what happened to the framework? What happened to the great civilizational analysis? What happened to the fearless honesty? It disappeared. And that disappearance tells you everything.

Silence Exposes the Fraud

You cannot spend years telling the world that Islamic theology produces uniquely violent behavior, then suddenly lose your voice when nations rooted in Jewish and Christian political identity are carrying out real-time mass slaughter against Muslims. You cannot do that and still claim integrity. You cannot do that and still claim principle. You cannot do that and still call yourself brave.

The Receipt

Ben Affleck was not wrong. He simply spoke before the receipts became too heavy to ignore. He saw the game early. Most people in that room did not want truth. They wanted permission. Permission to attack one group. Permission to flatten one civilization. Permission to call prejudice intelligence.

That is why his interruption mattered. He broke the script.

Truth has a cost. Most people love truth as long as it does not threaten their alliances. As long as it does not expose their tribe. As long as it does not require them to condemn the violence of those they secretly protect.

But if your standard cannot be applied to your own side, then it is not a standard. It is a weapon.

And if you only become a moral philosopher when the accused is Muslim, then you are not a philosopher. You are a propagandist with better branding.

The Charge

The Muslim does not need to bow his head and apologize on demand for a contested issue in classical jurisprudence while the same people demanding the apology are financing live atrocities and calling it self-defense.

No. Name the standard. Apply it to everyone. Name the crime. Apply it to everyone. Name the hypocrisy. Apply it to everyone. Anything less is fraud. And a fraud dressed as intellect is still a fraud.

A wise man does not fear consistency. A liar does.

Close it in your bones. Bismillah.
