HOW LONG IS THE CHALLENGE?

Alpha Shred Challenge ranges from 30 to 45 days depending on each season.

CAN I ACCESS THE CHALLENGE PROGRAM THROUGH MIKE RASHID TRAINING APP?

No. The challenge materials are accessible only through the membership portal on the website or the Alpha Shred Challenge App and delivered to you as a digital PDF file.

The Mike Rashid Training App mobile is exclusive to Mike’s Private Training and Nutrition only.

IS ALPHASHRED CHALLENGE A VIDEO CLASS?

No. You can perform the challenge at your convenient time. It is because not all participants are available at the same time and are in the same timezone. The exercises have a demo video where you can follow how to perform them.

HOW ARE THE WINNERS DETERMINED?

  • The winners of the Alpha Shred Challenge are selected based on a combination of criteria by Mike Rashid and Sean Torbati.
  • Contestants are required to submit photos and videos on Day 1, Day 15, and Day 30.
  • These pictures & videos are compared to judge the best overall transformations.
  • Winners are not necessarily those in the best shape, nor did they necessarily lose the most weight; each transformation is assessed individually and winners are selected based on the evidence and the opinions of Mike and Sean.
  • If the transformation quality between the 2 contestants is extremely close, Mike and Sean will defer to the private group and chose the contestant who was most active in the group.

I DO NOT HAVE ANY SOCIAL MEDIA OR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT. IS IT REQUIRED?

You can choose not to participate in the Facebook Group. However, please note that Mike's check-ins are done in the Facebook Group.

We also send out email notifications on important announcements.

Although we recommend you to have at least a Facebook account created to join the community, it is not a requirement.

However, coupons, discounts, promotions are oftentimes announced exclusively in the group.

CAN I SHARE MY REGISTRATION?

There should only be 1 account registered per challenger. However, if you choose to perform the challenge with your family, they need to be registered to be able to submit their images and to be considered as a part of the challenge.

 

You should be fully aware and assume the risk of illness, accidents, injury, death, personal injury, bodily harm, emotional stress, psychological harm, property damage, and all dangers potentially arising from or in connection with participating in the challenge.

DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE ALPHA SHRED APP TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CHALLENGE?

No. You do not need to download the app to participate in this challenge. The membership site can be accessed using your laptop and mobile through a regular browser.

WHAT DO I RECEIVE WHEN I PURCHASE A REGISTRATION TO THE CHALLENGE?

When you purchase a registration, you will receive your purchase invoice and your welcome email.

  • Purchase invoice
    • This is your receipt and it contains your personal download link if ever you have additional eBook purchases aside from your challenge registration.
    • The email subject title is: Download: Invoice 00000xxxx
    • This is your official receipt.
  • Welcome email
    • This is the welcome email for the Alphashred challenge that confirms your registration.
    • This contains your login credentials to access the membership site.
    • This also contains instructions on what to do next while waiting for the challenge to start, contact information, and other links to the challenge.
    • We recommend you not to delete this email.

I HAVE PURCHASED A REGISTRATION WHY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING?

There are a few reasons why this happens:

  • If your registration email is correct:
      • Chances are your welcome email and invoice are in your SPAM folder.
      • If you are using Gmail, it is highly likely that your welcome email and invoice can be found in the PROMOTIONS folder of your email account.
      • Comcast, iCloud, Hotmail, Outlook, or your company/business email are sometimes flagged by the system. This is because of the email security and permissions.
      • If you did not receive your invoice and welcome email,  but you have registered your email correctly, contact alpha shred support immediately.

 

  • If you are unsure if you have registered a correct email address
      • Oftentimes there is a typo in the email that is frequently overlooked during registration. This is why we recommend making sure that you have placed the correct information during registration to avoid delays in your account.
      • If this is the case, contact alpha shred support immediately to check your account before doing anything else.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO JOIN THE CHALLENGE?

  • Participating in the challenge is voluntary.
  • A participant should NOT be a minor.
  • A participant should be of sound mind and body and has not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person.
  • Participants should possess all rights and faculties necessary to execute, deliver, and perform the workouts in this challenge.

I CANNOT LOGIN TO THE APP. WHAT DO I DO?

From your app, do a password reset to request a new password from the system. This should allow you to log in most of the time.

WORKOUT PROGRAM

I JUST PURCHASED THE REGISTRATION TO THE CHALLENGE, WHERE DO I DOWNLOAD THE MATERIALS?

  • If you have purchased the registration before the challenge starts, what you need to do is wait, prepare yourself, and join the private Facebook Group
  • You will be notified once the challenge materials are available for download.
  • To be fair to ALL participants, challengers must start their workouts on the day the challenge officially starts.

I GOT THE EMAIL NOTIFICATION THAT THE MATERIALS ARE NOW READY FOR DOWNLOAD. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

WEBSITE LOGIN

  • Log in to the membership portal
  • From your dashboard, click the DOWNLOAD MATERIALS TAB
  • You will see the download buttons for your workout eBook, nutrition form, and your swap list.
  • Answer the nutrition form to activate and download your nutrition plan.

WHY DO I SEE BLANK PAGES IN MY WORKOUT PROGRAM?

There are several reasons why this happened.

When you download the program and everything you see are white blank pages, this means that the file download was interrupted and you received an error file. The program was opened before the system finished the entire process.

Remember these are large files and they take time to download. Download the program again. This time make sure everything has finished loading before you open the program.

Another possibility is the program you use to read the PDF file is not compatible. Make sure that you are using an app or a program that has the capability to view PDF files. We recommend you use Adobe Acrobat Reader to open your files.

DOES THE WORKOUT PROGRAM HAVE VIDEOS AND ILLUSTRATIONS?

Yes. The videos are embedded within the PDF file. You only need to open the program. Click the name of the exercise and you will be redirected to the video demo. Make sure you have a stable internet connection to stream the videos. For security reasons, these videos are not allowed to be downloaded.

DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAM EVERY DAY BEFORE MY WORKOUT?

You don't need to. You can download the program again if there are updates and amendments made to the material. However, you do not need to download a new copy every day if you have safely saved the program on your hard drive, phone, laptop, or cloud storage.

We encourage you to save your programs safely in your hard drive or online cloud storage. Programs are deleted from the server after the challenge is over and will not be available thereafter.

WHY IS THERE A DAY 31 IN MY WORKOUT PROGRAM? I THOUGHT THE CHALLENGE WAS ONLY FOR 30 DAYS?

To clarify, the challenge only runs for 30 days. You need to submit your progress photos and video on the 30th day of the challenge. The day 31 workouts in your program is a bonus day. You may or may not perform it but everything else is submitted on the 30th day of the challenge.

DO THE WORKOUTS DISAPPEAR FROM MY DASHBOARD ONCE THE CHALLENGE IS OVER?

Yes. The programs are accessible through the membership portal during the duration of the challenge only. You will receive an email reminder to download a copy of the program before the challenge ends.

WHERE CAN I FIND OTHER EBOOKS THAT I PURCHASED ASIDE FROM THE CHALLENGE REGISTRATION?

You can locate the download links using your invoice. When you purchase your registration and other eBooks, you will receive 2 emails after you checkout. You will receive your invoice and your welcome email. Make sure you do not delete your receipts.

CAN I PURCHASE THE PROGRAM SEPARATELY EVEN AFTER THE CHALLENGE IS OVER?

Only those who have participated in the challenge can avail of the workout program of the season. It is not sold separately or after the challenge has ended. This is why it is important to properly save a copy of your program.

CAN I ACCESS THE CHALLENGE PROGRAMS THROUGH THE MIKE RASHID MOBILE APP?

No. The challenge materials are accessible only through the membership portal and are delivered to you as a digital PDF file. The mobile app is exclusive only for Mike’s Private Training and Nutrition.

CAN I ACCESS OR DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAMS USING MY PHONE?

YES. You can access the membership portal using your phone browser. Just like how you access the membership portal using your laptop or desktop, you can use your phone browser to log in and access the materials so you can save them through your phone as well.

We recommend downloading the materials using the Alpha Shred Challenge App.

WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT IN THE CHALLENGE? DO I NEED TO HAVE A GYM MEMBERSHIP?

  • Participating in the Alpha Shred does not require you to have a gym membership. You can perform the exercises in the comforts of your own home or someplace where it is safe and accessible to you.

 

  • With regards to weights, although some of the workouts only use bodyweight, others do require a little more resistance. For these, you'll need to have a set of dumbbells and a set of resistance bands and sometimes a jumping rope.

 

  • There are no specific weights or resistance required. You can use your creativity and can make use of what you have at home such as water jugs, a backpack filled with books, grocery bags, paint cans, a case of beer, etc.

NUTRITION PROGRAM

I JUST PURCHASED A REGISTRATION, WHERE CAN I FIND MY MEAL PLAN?

You will receive a notification when the nutrition plan is available to download.

I READ THAT THERE IS A FORM I SHOULD FILL OUT TO GET MY MEAL PLAN. WHERE CAN I FIND IT?

The form is a part of the nutrition plan which will be available when you receive the notification email that your meal plan is ready to be downloaded.

I HAVE RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION THAT I CAN DOWNLOAD THE MATERIALS FOR THE CHALLENGE. WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD MY MEAL PLAN?

To download your nutrition plan, you only need to log in to the membership site > click the DOWNLOAD PROGRAMS TAB > answer the form and submit to activate your download link.

 

If you cannot see anything after submitting the form, just go and click again on the download programs tab or refresh the page. You will be able to see your nutrition plan, swap list, and supplements guide ready for download.

I HAVE DOWNLOADED THE MEAL PLAN, ARE WE TO FOLLOW THIS PLAN FOR 30 DAYS?

What you received was not a simple guideline aka “eat this not that”. It is a full example meal plan, not just generic macros or guidelines. The plan is NOT one size fits all, or even close. What you received is the best fit for you based on your personal data and chosen type of dietary style.

 

If you were looking for 30-days of different meal plans, this isn’t part of the challenge - but that’s because we don’t believe that is an effective approach. We know from a decade working with individuals from all populations that having 30 days of different meals leads to lower compliance and worse results. Excellence in nutrition is built from a solid/regular routine and incorporating fun/variety into that.

 

We provide the tools for this variety with our easy to use swap list!

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF MEAL PLAN IN THE CHALLENGE?

Traditional - ( Normal structure with meals spread throughout the day evenly )

Intermittent Fasting - ( Time-restricted eating approach where the challenger will eat their listed 3 meals within 8 hours of the day and fast (water or non-caloric drinks only) for the remaining 16 hours of the day )

Keto - ( Minimal sugar/carbohydrate approach to turn on the body’s ketone production. Excellent for appetite management )

Mike Rashid Style - One Meal a Day (Vegan) - (The challenger will eat on a restricted schedule where the primary feeding of the day occurs in 2 meals; within a 2-3 hour time period. The challenger will fat with water or non-caloric beverages only for the majority of the day and then will break their fast with a power shake, followed by a nutrient and calorie-dense whole food meal soon thereafter. This plan is also fully plant-based. The plan is designed based on the actual diet of Mike Rashid, but adjusted for different calorie needs.)

WHAT IS A FOOD SWAP LIST?

This is a tool you need so that you will have the knowledge, and not rely on your coach or any type of diet for the rest of your life. This is a tool to understand how to swap out, replace, or substitute foods in your meal plan.

 

The food you can replace in your meal plan is not only restricted to the list in this tool.

CAN I CHANGE THE MEAL PLAN I RECEIVED TO ANOTHER TYPE OF PLAN?

Yes. You can change your plan’s nutritional style by accessing the membership dashboard and switching your nutrition style preference.

CAN I MAKE SUBSTITUTIONS OR REPLACEMENTS OF MY MEALS WITH LOCAL INGREDIENTS?

You can make substitutions but they need to fit into the context of your meal plan to still be effective.

HOW DO I TIME MY MEALS BASED ON MY PLAN?

  • Meal timing is first and foremost - a factor of your daily routine and schedule! Space your meals out in the way that best fits your hunger patterns and availability to eat!

 

  • If you are on the intermittent fasting style plan, we recommend choosing an 8 to 10-hour window each day where you eat your first meal and your last meal within the time period.

 

  • If you are following the Vegan OMAD approach, We recommend consuming the power smoothie and the main meal within four hours. If you’d like to spread the meals out a bit further, you can extend to six hours and split the main meal into two portions!

DO WE NEED TO SUBMIT BODY MEASUREMENTS EVERY WEEK FOR TO SHOW OUR PROGRESS?

We have developed a self-assessment check-in tool for you to check in with and provide essential info to look back on for yourself and for us as we consider making adjustments to your plan if you feel you’re stuck! It is very important, to be honest here, as providing inaccurate info only hurts you!

HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR PHOTOS AND 360 VIDEO?

Follow the steps below to be qualified in the challenge

  • FRONT VIEW
    • Wear clothing that shows 3/4th of your body (ex. bikini or trunks)
    • Wear the exact same outfit while taking photos
    • Look straight ahead for a clear front-view image
    • Hold a white A4 paper with the hashtag next to you

 

  • SIDE VIEW & BACK VIEW
    • Wear clothing that shows 3/4th of your body (ex. bikini or trunks)
    • Wear the exact same outfit while taking photos
    • Look straight ahead for a clear side/back-view image
    • Side and back view does NOT require holding a piece of paper

 

  • 360 TURNING VIDEO
    • It is required to submit a video of you turning 360
    • The video should show your whole body, looking straight ahead and turning slowly in 360.
    • The video does not mean you are to film yourself performing the exercises
    • The video requires to contain the hashtag.

REMINDERS BEFORE YOU UPLOAD YOUR PHOTOS AND VIDEOS

  • Photos and 360 videos must be taken with the correct hashtag and submitted on the first day of the challenge to be accepted.
  • You must submit new photos and 360 videos taken only during the 15th and the 30th day of the challenge.
  • Wear the exact outfit while taking photos (Day 1, 15, & 30).
  • Make sure your files do not exceed 2 MB for photos and 40MB for videos before you upload them.
  • Participants need to PERSONALLYupload their images and videos

WHERE DO I UPLOAD MY DAY 1 PHOTOS?

You need to log in to the membership site and click the PHOTO/VIDEO TAB to upload your photos and video, provide your body measurements, and click upload to submit. Only the photos and videos that are submitted at the membership site are accepted.

WHAT IS THE OFFICIAL HASHTAG FOR THE PHOTOS?

You will receive an email notification for the official hashtag via email. It is also announced in the Facebook group. Every season the hashtag changes so make sure that you use the correct hashtag to avoid getting disqualified.

DO I NEED TO HAVE THE OFFICIAL HASHTAG ON ALL MY PHOTOS?

Yes. You need to have the official hashtag in your 360 videos as well. This is also the same with your photos. Your videos are needed to be reviewed correctly showing the same day as your photos.

WHAT IS A 360 VIDEO? IS IT A REQUIREMENT?

Yes, submitting a 360 video is a requirement. A 360 video is where you use to stand in front of your camera and record yourself in a complete turn of 360 degrees. This is so that the areas that are not captured in your photos will be seen as well.

DO I NEED TO FLEX IN MY PHOTOS AND VIDEO?

Not necessary. You can take photos and video in whatever way you think is comfortable.

I AM HAVING A HARD TIME UPLOADING MY PHOTOS AND VIDEOS. I KEPT TRYING BUT I KEEP GETTING ERRORS?

There are several reasons why you cannot see your photos and videos.

  • You may have exceeded the allowable file size. Make sure that your images do not exceed 2MB for photos and 40MB for videos.

 

  • You may have already uploaded your files but due to the cookies stored in your browser, the files you upload do not show. If this is the case, delete and refresh your browsing data cache or you can use a private or incognito version of your browsers.

IS IT A REQUIREMENT TO POST MY PHOTOS ON THE FACEBOOK GROUP?

No. You are not required to post your images on the private Facebook group.

WHY I KEEP SEEING ERROR ON THE PHOTO UPLOAD PORTAL PAGE?

This may be due to the traffic of people trying to upload to the server at the same time. You can wait for a few minutes and try again.

DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, I HAD TROUBLE UPLOADING MY FILES ON DAY 1. CAN I STILL SUBMIT MY PHOTOS?

Inform the Alphashred support team about the situation before uploading your images.

HOW DO I RE-UPLOAD OR CHANGE MY PHOTO?

If you already have uploaded your photo and videos and you wish to replace them with a different image, all you need to do is: Click Choose file > choose your image to replace the current image you have uploaded > then click OPEN. If you have no other changes, click UPLOAD to submit and complete the process

HOW CAN I CHECK IF I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY UPLOADED MY PHOTO AND VIDEO?

If you need to check if you have successfully uploaded your video and images, you can simply log out, clear your cache, and log in again. You can also use a private browser to check.

I AM A LATE REGISTRANT. CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE AND UPLOAD MY PHOTOS?

Inform the Alphashred support team about the situation before uploading your images.

I UPLOADED THE PHOTOS IN THE WRONG SLOT. HOW CAN I ERASE IT?

Leave them as-is. If you have mistakenly uploaded on Day 15 or Day 30, then you can replace the images on the day of submission. As long as you have submitted your images in the right slot as well, the images in the correct slots are considered.

WHY DOES THE LINK KEEPS REDIRECTING ME TO “PAGE NOT FOUND”?

This is a browser cache issue. Make sure you are completely logout from the website. Clear all your browser cache and cookies. Open a new and clean browser (if you can, preferably a private browser) then type this at the address bar so that you will be able to log in: https://mikerashid.com/login/

WILL EVERYBODY THAT IS PARTICIPATING IN THE CHALLENGE SEE MY PHOTOS?

No. Only the admins of this challenge will be able to see your submitted photos.

ARE SUPPLEMENTS REQUIRED IN THE CHALLENGE?

No, you can choose not to have any supplements in the challenge. But they definitely enhance your results.

If you have accidentally included the supplements in your purchase, contact alphashred support immediately within the hour of your purchase. We can only process supplement purchases that were made together with the challenge registration.

TRAINING APP

I ALSO PURCHASED A PRIVATE TRAINING AND I HAVE RECEIVED A WORKOUT AND A MEAL PLAN. IS THIS PART OF THE CHALLENGE?

Unfortunately, No. The Private Training that you can access in the app is not part of the challenge. The challenge is not accessed through any app.

You need to follow the timeline of the challenge and to access the workout and meal plans of the challenge, you need to log in to the membership page.

CAN I USE THE APP WHILE I PARTICIPATE IN THE ALPHASHRED CHALLENGE?

It is best to contact [email protected] to know how you can incorporate the training app with the challenge.

I HAVE AVAILED THE FREE PRIVATE TRIAL, WILL I GET CHARGED AFTER THE FREE WEEK?

Yes. Once your 7 days free trial period is over, you will be charged the $39.99 monthly until you cancel. If you don't want to continue with the private training app subscription, request for a cancellation preferably before your free week is over at [email protected] to avoid any unwanted charges.

This only applies to those who have availed the free week private training app. Alphashred challenge registration charges only once per season.
